Monday’s Stats: Social Media and Brand Influence

What Sites Influence Purchases?
American consumers cited blogs as having more influence on purchases over Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and every other social site out there according to a new study from Technorati media. Pretty interesting given all the emphasis on the social networks these days and the relatively minimal attention given to blogs.

The Platforms Brands ChooseSpeaking of social platforms for brands, it’s pretty well known now that all the major brands are active on social media now. According to some new data, it’s no surprise that they’re almost all on both Facebook and Twitter but companies are also adopting Google+, Pinterest and Instagram at a rapidly growing rate. I’m personally recommending to some of my clients that they push further into Instagram and these stats seem to support that move. The chart below shows these top five social networks along with their comparative growth from last year.
